• Structure an ongoing internal process to assure that:
  • Material compliance issues are properly identified and tracked
  • Responsibility is affixed to assure effective resolution of identified issues
  • Proposed corrective action is assessed early on to determine whether the corrective action, if implemented, would effectively address the issue and possible obstacles to implementation are identified and mitigated
  • Target date 'slide' is highlighted and minimized
  • Effective reporting is implemented to ensure that senior management and the audit committee have a meaningful tool to assess progress in addressing outstanding issues
